Methodology

No prices are received from anywhere. Each instrument is a seeded walk over three wavelengths — a multi-week trend, a fortnightly swing and daily chop — with a yearly seasonal term on top, because limes are seasonal and the stall likes to sound like it knows that.

The important property is that it is deterministic. A Worker runs in hundreds of cities simultaneously, so a genuinely random ticker would disagree with itself depending on which data centre answered you. Seeding everything from the date means every edge location strikes the same price without talking to a database.
